One of our Good Turn Projects we chose to do this year was Jars of hope.
Our cubs collaborated with The Rotary Club of East London Anns’ in making up Jars for a local charity that feeds many destitute families.
The Anns’ supplied the ingredients and the cubs collected the glass jars and filled these with all the ingredients to make up the Jars of Hope. They loved every second of this task and had a great time working the “production line”. In total, they managed to fill 108 Jars of Hope which will in turn provide a meal for 432 people. It just goes to show that a little bit of effort can go a long way.
On Saturday, our sixer council had the pleasure of handing over the Jars of Hope to a lovely lady by the name of Aunty Karen. She helps so many families within the community. Our sixers got to spend a little time with Aunty Karen and asked her questions about the work she does and how she has been able to help so many people.
They will take what they have learned and share this with the pack at our next pack meeting.
We are so grateful to the Rotary Club of East London Anns’ for helping us accomplish this goal. 1; 2; 3; WOOF!
Well done to our cubs in doing their best!
