I taught my mum how to make a nice cup of tea

This year we are celebrating 100 years of Cubbing worldwide. We asked 100 Cubs why Cubbing Rocks. We spoke to Ledley Shingange (10) from 1st Shiluvane Cub Pack in Limpopo.

Ledley1SSA: Why is Cubbing so much fun?
Cubbing is so much fun because we learn the Cub law and have to live by the law.

SSA: What was your best experience with Cubs?
My best experience was learning to cook; we cooked eggs and made tea.

SSA: What is the weirdest thing you ate outdoors?
I ate a ring doughnut.

SSA: What was the toughest challenge at Cubs?
Getting the Food For Life badge was a big challenge.

SSA: What was the most amazing place you visited with Cubs?
Spur was an amazing place we visited with Cubs.

SSA: Can you name a few things you have learnt by being a Cub?
I learnt the Cub Prayer, knots, Cub Law and lighting a fire.

SSA: What things have you done with Cubs to help people in your community?
Cleaning a street helped the community.

SSA: What did you teach your mum that you learned at Cubs?
I taught her how to make a nice cup of tea in the morning.

SSA: What makes a good Akela?
A person who is caring and teaches children good things

SSA: Why is your Akela special?
Because she always teaches us to be clean and to be in a clean place.
