Scouts at the Rotary Club East London
Great to see our District Commissioner, Craig Du Plessis, flying the flag for Scouting at the Rotary Club of East London.
Craig shared the journey of Scouting—from the history behind our traditions to the innovative programmes that develop young leaders.
“A sincere thank you to Craig Du Plessis, District Commissioner and leader of the 1st Vincent Scouts, for sharing an insightful presentation on the Scouting movement. Craig introduced us to the rich traditions of Scouting, including the history behind Scouter names, the distinction between youth groups and Scout groups, and the various age sections, from Meerkats and Cubs to Scouts and Rovers. He also gave us an overview of the innovative Sixer project and explained how programmes are developed to ensure young people continue to grow in leadership, service, and life skills at every stage of their Scouting journey.”
The evening also sparked thoughtful discussions on legacy and service, values we hold dear across Eastern Cape South. A fantastic example of how we build bridges with fellow community organizations. 👏🌍
